Supplier Diversity Manager – FIN001169

Develops, implements, and manages all aspects of UScellular’s Supplier Diversity strategy and program. This role serves as the liaison between UScellular and the diverse supplier community within the company’s markets to identify diverse suppliers. The Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for creating UScellular’s Supplier Diversity Strategy, building and implementing a tactical plan, monitoring plan progress and implementing program improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop UScellular’s Supplier Diversity Strategy and tactical plan. Manage the company-wide Supplier Diversity program.
  • Accountable for establishing and achieving UScellular’s Supplier Diversity goal.
  • Educate company leaders on the Supplier Diversity value proposition and best practices to obtain buy-in and support for executing on the company’s Supplier Diversity goals and objectives.
  • Identify diverse supplier sourcing opportunities to build internal support among clients and stakeholders.
  • Build cross-team relationships with key stakeholders instrumental in the supplier diversity program’s success.
  • Foster relationship to maintain a “best-in-class” portfolio of diverse suppliers for UScellular.
  • Assist the USCC Procurement team in identifying diverse suppliers for inclusions in RFIs and competitive bids.
  • Develop Supplier Diversity policies and accountability processes.
  • Develop and recommend goals, metrics, and reporting as a part of UScellular’s Diversity Success Scorecard.
  • Coordination of supplier diversity Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier reporting activities, including internal stakeholder reporting, and third-party industry organizational reporting requests.
  • Represent USCC internally and externally with all diverse communities on all matters relating to supplier diversity.
  • Plan and organize Supplier Diversity outreach events and serve on related advisory boards where appropriate. (WBDC, NMSDC, and CMSDC).
  • Maintain criteria for working relationship with community organizations both on a local and national level; identify organizations to form working relationship with; develop purpose and expect outcomes along with monitor progress.
  • Interface with clients and governmental agencies, as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in supplier diversity and company purchasing resources, systems, and procedures.
  • Oversee the creation of executive-level summary reports and deliver the appropriate communication to executive leadership.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 7 years strategic sourcing/procurement management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals, groups, and all levels internal and external to the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of entire supply chain, category management, strategic sourcing, and negotiations.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers and garner support for strategy and tactics.
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams and facilitate cross-functional meetings.
  • Leverages financial data to identify opportunities for diverse suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage strategic initiatives.
  • High level contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems, data warehouse and related procurement systems and applications.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Windows Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Established relationships with Minority and Women Owned supplier community and advocacy groups.
