Reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Applications, the Director of PMO is responsible for the oversight and portfolio management of all Advanced Group initiatives around the implementation of new innovative digital processes and tools for Advanced Group. As head of the Project Management Office, this position is responsible for implementation of necessary actions to deliver successful projects, management of the technology project portfolio, talent management of the team, and coordination of innovation activities with Advanced Group stakeholders. This position provides positive leadership to effectively lead and manage the functions of project management across all business units. This is a leadership role that requires both strategic and tactical capabilities, excellence in project management and business processes, a deep understanding of data management and its inherent value, and innovation in problem solving for business growth initiatives

  • Promote pragmatic innovation by championing value-based, risk-managed investments and guided, disciplined execution
  • Measure project success by gathering data and reporting on KPIs that valuate investments and projects in the form of expense reduction, revenue generation, and/or improved client and consultant service
  • Develop framework for the analysis and review of the effective of existing technology toolset
  • Coach and collaborate with business partners and team members to apply and share a common vision for operational excellence, processes, and technologies, in accordance with digital strategy
  • Stimulate adoption of technology, vendor partnerships, and solution-based opportunities through effective communication, change management, and visibility
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc analytics to support decision-making process
  • Research and review industry trends to benchmark services and strategies
  • Act as a thought partner with the IT Leadership team on issues relating to technology strategy
  • Work in collaboration with the IT Leadership team and Digital Strategy team to execute multi-year organizational strategic plans and roadmaps
  • Develop multi-year business capability roadmaps with enterprise architecture. Develop a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio in coordination with the Project Management Office (PMO). Perform detailed market, technical, and operational analysis and provide recommendations.
  • Lead a team of business relationship managers, internal and contract project managers in a business-partner organizational model
  • Develop staff to improve their technology, data analytics, and project and product management skills
  • Ensure product (application and system) requirements are implemented in accordance with digital strategy and project plans
  • Develop staff to evaluate activities, projects, products, and investments with a value-based, client- and consultant-focused approach
  • Drive the definition and delivery of product releases, in accordance with digital strategy
  • Motivate and provide leadership to staff to ensure the proper allocation of resources to the highest priority deliverables
  • Manage and assist the creation and maintenance of Business Technology Cases (BTCs). This involves engaging business sponsors and prioritizing features and corresponding justifications. Identify business value when developing ideas with a focus on digital awareness, risk assessment, business continuity and business capability requirements.
  • Think strategically by identifying business function opportunities and the best-suited position for the function’s adoption within the organization. Measure adoption and work with business leadership to develop future roadmap and opportunities.
  • Identify short- and long-term strategic business function opportunities and track adoption across the relevant departments.
  • Own the assessment of potential and current solutions, providing detailed analysis to leadership upon request or leading up to contract renewal periods. Where needed, provide leadership with ongoing support and insight related to talent acquisition budgeting, governance, and management.
  • Effectively manage and support projects within allotted timeline and budget. Aid in the implementation of small, medium, and enterprise-level solutions.
  • Develop documentation related to user needs, solution evolution, change management. Review requirements with business partners, vendors, and consultants. Support change management and provide hands-on assistance where needed.
  • Maintain creativity and innovation by staying on top of industry and technological trends. Build and maintain a thorough knowledge base of industry-related technology, industry trends, and general IT best practices. Consult the business on potential means of innovating through technological advancement.
  • Ensure that technology solutions are applied consistently with Advanced Group’s values.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure buy-in of systems (function and design) before and during onboarding or development.
  • Manage the enterprise project management tools and methodologies for communicating the status of strategic initiatives and projects.



  • Proven success in building a technology strategy driven by business initiatives and presenting the solution to executives and colleagues
  • Track record of effectively leading project teams, including internal and external application development teams, across an array of programs and functional areas, with the ability to leverage strengths from the disparate resource groups
  • Demonstrated success in an entrepreneurial environment with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Proven emphasis on user-driven product design and data-driven product refinement
  • Ability to reference specific examples of having led organizational transformation projects
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to think creatively and strategically to capitalize on unstructured, ambiguous business situations
  • Demonstrated willingness and passion to work in a hands-on manner with complex technical challenges
  • Energy, focus, assertiveness, and diplomacy: Knowing when to push an agenda and when to let a situation develop, rest, or advance
  • Highly developed communication skills: Ability and comfort with working at executive levels. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline from accredited university
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in enterprise business application support, development, project management, data analysis and management, and business process design and analysis
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience managing teams of diverse levels and areas of expertise
  • PMP, PPM, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Preferred experience with Smartsheet for project management, executive dashboards, and project communication.
