This group collectively has decades of experience in the high-end luxury real estate market.Job Summary:The director of marketing and business development for Luxury Portfolio International is responsible for strategic planning and execution of all aspects of marketing services for LPI, including print and online marketing vehicles, social media and PR, internal communication and product rollouts as well as overseeing production of two annual editions of the Luxury Portfolio International Magazine. In addition, the director of marketing and business development ensures a consistent voice and brand identity for LPI, overseeing all consumer facing touchpoints, including LuxuryPortfolio.com, to direct design, tone, language and identity to ensure consistency across all media. The incumbent must exercise independent judgment with respect to significant matters relating to budgeting for advertising, marketing materials, all new marketing initiatives and is responsible for good expense management for all budget line-items under the marketing umbrella. The position is directly accountable for the results of a complex department which represents significant ambiguity/risk to the LPI Division related to revenue and expense management as well as responsibility for consumer-facing and member-facing reputation management and brand identity.This role requires the management and development of three direct reports: Advertising Specialist, Marketing Communications Specialist and the Marketing Coordinator.The director of marketing and business development must bring strategic thinking, creative ideas and a strong ability to exercise independent judgment with respect to significant matters relating to advertising contracts and member pricing calculation/negotiation. The position is responsible for a significant online and offline advertising contracts as well as driving revenue to internal marketing programs.This position is based in our Chicago Loop headquarters.Key Responsibilities:Budget managementDirect and lead the marketing team for Luxury Portfolio, including development of materials, programs and touchpoints, ensuring efficiency and minimal errors while delivering a high service-level culture.Direct new initiatives: ensure successful programs are well supported and new programs are thoughtfully researched, rolled out and tracked to ensure successGrowth: Drive program growth and outline/define revenue opportunities as program and industry maturesOnline: Responsible for the voice, look and feel and strategic direction of LuxuryPortfolio.com as well as partnering the Web team to ensure excellent usability.Public speaking: the ability to present program benefits, features and statistics to members and consumers, in person or via webinar, as needed as well as to represent Luxury Portfolio at select industry events as neededIdeation: regularly bring new ideas to the fore, staying on top of industry initiatives and the latest and greatest marketing, PR, social media and online tools and resourcesManage external PR initiatives as well as regular, internal membership communicationsResponsible for voice, overall impact and consistent evolution of the Luxury Portfolio magazine, ensuring it stays on schedule, in budget and cutting-edge.Responsible for ensuring Luxury Portfolio statistics are updated with outside vendors, that new forms of stats and benchmarking are continuously considered, and that marketing team keeps stats current in various materials, Web sites and communicationsKey Relationships:Interacts with LeadingRE and Luxury Portfolio members and suppliers. Also interfaces with the Luxury Portfolio internal marketing and events teams and the LeadingRE Regional Support team.Education and Experience:BS/BA degree and/or a minimum of 7 years related experience requiredMinimum 3 years experience managing a teamReal estate industry experience preferredMarketing knowledge preferredFamiliarity with luxury brands and/or marketing preferredRequired Skills and Competencies:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to present/speak in front of groupsTechnical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and website managementProficiency with online social media toolsProficiency with design programs including InDesignUnderstanding of profit and drive to grow revenue to the bottom lineUnderstanding of basic accounting principles, budgeting and financialsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving deadlinesProfessional maturity to interface with various levels of people and disciplinesOutstanding organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skillsStrong analytical capabilitiesDedication to delivering quality work productDesire to support others coupled with ability to initiate and manage individual s own projectsProfessional appearance and demeanorConditions of Work:Flexible work hours may be necessary when facing project deadlinesOccasional travel will be required
