Description Manage all procurement-related activities for specific accounts within our organization Conduct carrier bids and analyze rates for determining carrier selections; make decisions while remaining compliant with the overall sourcing strategy and maintaining the utmost customer service Create, manage, update and maintain rate schedules; benchmark rates for new lanes for customer cost studies Perform activities related to onboarding new carriers into the customer network and internal systems Compile and interpret performance metrics for meetings with customers and carriers; address and resolve carrier-related issues Analyze historical and freight pay data to ascertain changes, anomalies or new opportunities within the network Ensure departmental records are maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures and audit guidelines Lead annual personnel reviews for operations staff Runs the day to day operations by producing plans, identifying problems and opportunities early, and proactively responding to them Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience 8+ years of combined experience in carrier procurement and logistics/operations Strong experience with all mediums of freight, transit times, carrier contracts and negotiation and networks Understanding of and experience with mode rate structures, including Air, Less-than-Truckload (LTL), etc. Strong experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access Logistics Transformation experience Self-motivated work style; experience working well with minimal direct supervision or in a team environment; comfortable consulting with team members and management as needed Management experience Strong interpersonal, organizational, multitasking and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment Our client is a global organization with over 100 locations across the globe, and has been in business for over 50 years.
