About Usn n At recreaish, our mission is to make active recreation as accessible and convenient as possible.

We accomplish this with a mobile application powered by a proprietary database and dynamic algorithm that matches you with peers of similar interests and skill levels at a mutually convenient time and location; facilitates low-cost, instructor-led activities utilizing the gig-economy with experts on the platform; and aids in both finding you the best-suited venues to play at and ensuring you have the proper gear to go play that activity.n nWe are a rapidly growing early-stage startup tapped into the University of Chicago resources with the plan of participating in Booth’s New Venture Challenge this Spring (>$1M in investments awarded to top 3 finishers).

This summer, we beta-launched to a small group in downtown Chicago, and witnessed 900 hours of recreational activity among 125 active users in just a 4-month span.n nAs CTO, you would be managing our engineering team which consists of 2 part-time junior engineers and the founder who wrote the original code has a background in data analytics, and currently serves as a product manager.n nDuties and responsibilitiesn nWe are looking for an experienced engineer who can contribute 10-20 hours/week ton nLeading the techn Getting the current product ready for the v1 launch this Spring Designing a framework that allows us to be robust and scalable Prioritizing tasks for the dev team n n Assist in recruiting, onboarding and training our junior-level engineersn Provide guidance and insights on difficult problems and best practices Assist in recruiting efforts when necessary n n Writing coden 33%+ of your time initially will be spent writing coden n Our UChicago resources and budget allow us to easily hire more junior engineers as needed.n n Requirementsn n Generaln Excellent communication and leadership skills High attention to detail Self-starter who will take initiative to set and meet deadlines Ability to digest large amounts of information and identify critical insights Strong prioritization skills n The candidate must be at least a Senior-level engineer in his/her current post and be proficient inn HTML & CSS JavaScript Git SQL Ruby on Rails (not required, but nice to have
