Aon is looking for a Catastrophe Actuarial Analyst in Chicago, ILJob ResponsibilitiesUnderstand/run catastrophe modeling software for client and prospect portfolio risk analyses.Use catastrophe model output for rate analysis, including developing catastrophe provisions, conduct reinsurance cost allocations, design and develop loss mitigation plans, develop new rating plans.Use financial models to design and manage catastrophe reinsurance programs.Create professional reports and visualizations to clearly communicate findings to internal and external clients and stakeholdersRespond to brokers, clients, and reinsurers on issues and questions relating to risk analysis for natural and manmade catastrophes.Provide regulatory supports for clients’ rate filings.Assist clients in the understanding of catastrophe risks, sensitivity studies, and added analytics based on catastrophe model results.Serve as consulting actuary for Aon’s Impact Forecasting model.

Provide actuarial supports to help Impact Forecasting model meeting regulatory requirements in all US jurisdictions.

Conduct rate filing, residual market, profitability research and construct industry reports.Conduct research on regulations pertinent to catastrophe risk management Required Education, Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering or other similarly quantitative or analytically-orientated major, or equivalent experience3+ years of direct industry experience in property insurance, actuarial, data analysis or experience in an analytical field; preferably analyzing complex datasetsExcellent communicator, especially the ability to explain complicated conceptsExperience with supervised and unsupervised learning.
