– Home InfusionThe Nurse Clinician under the direction of the Nurse Manager provides infusion and other skilled nursing care (in accordance with State, Federal and OSHA regulations) for the Home Infusion Solutions (HDM, L.L.C.) patients.

Exemplifies the HIS mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with HIS/Rush policies and procedures.Position Responsibilities:* Provides infusion and other skilled care to patients including, but not limited to:* Patient assessment and reassessment* Patient and caregiver teaching* Lab draws/monitoring* Development and revision of the Plan of Treatment and Care Plan* Implementation of physician orders* Monitoring of patient response to infusion therapy* Response to emergency patient needs* Provides pre-hospital discharge assessments as needed and appropriate.* Completes and submits patient care documentation timely and accurately.* Communicates to physician, nurse manager and other HIS team members any changes in the patient’s condition and assists with problem resolution.* Takes professional responsibility for self-protection during required work in potentially hazardous situations (handling of cytoxic agents, handling of blood and body fluids).* Represents self and HIS in a professional and ethical manner.* Complies with all applicable HIS policies and procedures.* Works effectively with HIS care team to clinically and financially manage patient care.* Maintains professional licensure, certification and health requirements.

Demonstrates clinical competence within required nursing procedures/orientation program.* Maintains confidentiality of patient information.* Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.* Participates in departmental Quality Assurance activities.* Performs within the framework of the RUMC/HIS/HDM.

policies and procedures.Position Qualifications Include:* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

B.S.N.

preferred.* Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.* Minimum of two years recent experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy, including patient assessment skills, venous access skills and emergency patient care.* Minimum of 1 year previous specialized home health experience desired.* PICC training desired.* CPR certification required.* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.* Flexibility with work schedule.* Participation and membership in professional societies and organizations is desirable.* Dependable in attendance and job performance.* Good organizational and time-management skills.* Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic.* Telephone, computer systems, copiers, fax machines, calculator and other office equipment as necessary.* Normal office, warehouse, patient’s home and clinical environments.* May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to blood-borne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, cleaning and sanitizing agents.Company Highlights:* Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, Rush University Medical Center is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
