Job Description

CIBC World Markets Corp. seeks Director, Technology Development and Architecture to provide extensive technical and operational expertise to develop, enhance, facilitate, and support, service delivery software applications for financial trading, portfolio management, and risk management. Perform strategic migration and integration of critical business information systems with current wealth management applications. Develop and implement computer system solutions to current trading practices, and apply evolving technologies to trading platforms. Perform strategic business systems analysis and provide thought leadership to CIBC derivative trading platform and risk management applications. Serve as the technology contact for all US Capital Markets initiatives. Interface with key partners to expand CIBC’s client-focused Global Securities trading platform.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM field, and 2 years of experience with software application development and support of software applications for business users. Experience must include a minimum of: 1 year of experience with migrating and integrating legacy business systems with current business applications; 1 year of experience with identifying and resolving critical software production problems for support of applications; 1 year of experience with implementation plans for complex applications and maintenance updates, including APEX Security Finance application, Actimize, Calypso, and MarkitWire; 1 year of experience working closely with external vendors and internal partners to ensure high availability, supported infrastructure, and quality service of secure applications; and 1 year of experience with analyzing and interpreting changes and trends in FinTech to identify opportunities to support new business requirements. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
