With our proven and scalable operating model, we complement a healthcare organization’s infrastructure, quickly driving sustainable improvements to net patient revenue and cash flows while reducing operating costs and enhancing the patient experience.nn nnThe Chief Accounting Officer will be responsible for managing technical accounting and policy for the organization, including supporting aspects of transformation to implement a best-in-class accounting and reporting policy function and reporting processes for the global Controller’s organization.

The candidate will be a key position in the Finance Controller’s organization, working collaboratively within the global Controller’s organization, as well as partnering with the business on strategic and growth initiatives.

Core to the responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to bring broad-based experiences from prior experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, as well as experience with a publicly-traded company.

Past experiences will have enabled you to develop an understanding of researching and documenting technical accounting matters, particularly as they relate to technology and health care, which will aid in your success to support and maintain a best-in-class accounting and reporting policy structure.

You will also be responsible for supporting consultations related to revenue from contracts with customers (ASC 606) and preparing or reviewing disclosures within recurring filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).nn nnIn this role, the successful candidate will be a close partner to R1’s Controller.

You will help assess complex accounting issues as well as drive R1’s monthly and quarterly close process optimizing our performance across the organization as well as enhancing our performance through our recent consolidation fully onto Oracle.

Your leadership and experience will help R1 smoothly, reliably, and efficiently improve our close process.

nn nn Responsibilities: nn Develop and grow the team responsible for establishing accounting and reporting policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations Lead the development and maintenance of accounting and reporting policies in compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations Manage aspects of developing and maintaining accounting and reporting policies related to compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations Manage or support reviews of new accounting standard updates and adaptation of processes and policies to reflect applicable updates; track projects related to emerging accounting guidance and reporting rules Manage the technical accounting research and related documentation of technical accounting matters Manage or complete exercises to benchmark accounting and reporting policies, as well as disclosures, against other public company filers as part of an effort to achieve best-in-class standards Partner with Finance to support accounting for new or complex transactions, including developing documented conclusions incorporating applicable accounting guidance Participate in the quarterly SEC filing process, including preparation of assigned disclosures and reviews of investor relations materials Execute special projects as assigned, including mergers and acquisitions accounting considerations and finance functional transformation projects Manage aspects of the relationship with R1’s independent registered public accounting firm nn Required Qualifications: nn 15+ years in Accounting or Finance related field Certified Public Accountant Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Public accounting (Big Four) and/or industry accounting experience with publicly-traded companies Executive presence and ability to communicate succinctly with senior leadership team while equally comfortable focusing the team and keeping processes on track Prior experience drafting and managing accounting and reporting policies for a publicly-traded organization Prior experience preparing and reviewing filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including Form 10-Qs, Form 10-Ks and Form 8-Ks Knowledge and experience with complex Corporate accounting areas, such as stock-based compensation, equity, debt, partnership and business combinations Proficient with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including ASC 606 Strong grasp of complex accounting concepts balanced with operational and business understanding Knowledge of large ERP systems, such as Oracle and Peoplesoft, as well as consolidation applications such as HFM, etc.
