Analyst, Private Equity Sponsor Direct Leveraged Finance

Middle Market Direct Leveraged Finance Business

This is a Full-time position in Chicago, IL posted February 23, 2021.

nnTeam member delivering corporate finance solutions to portfolio companies owned by private equity firms in leveraged buyout, recapitalization and high growth transactions, rotating across industry sector teams within the Private Equity Sponsor Group.

Work with private equity groups, investment banks, financial intermediaries, financial advisors and consultants, and management teams of current or prospective borrowers.

The activities support business development and origination, underwriting and portfolio management efforts.

nn Underwrite and manage new leveraged cash flow, enterprise value transactions for private equity sponsored buyouts and recapitalizations.

Deal structures include 1st/2nd lien, unitranche and selective mezzanine.

Initial screening of credit requests, extensive financial analysis, cash flow modeling, industry and company analysis.

Assist in the closing of new transactions.

Support portfolio management activities within the business, including analyzing the performance of the portfolio accounts monthly and interfacing with company senior management teams.

nn nn nn Qualifications nn nn nn One to three/four years” experience
– either 1) completion of a major money center bank formal credit training and analyst program with new loan underwriting experience and some exposure to leveraged finance, 2) completion of an investment banking corporate finance analyst program, or 3) M&A transaction advisory and/or financial due diligence/quality of earnings/valuations group in a large accounting or consulting firm.

Preferably residing in the Chicago area, or very easily relocatable if domiciled in another city.

Strong financial analysis, research and business due diligence skills.

Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Oriented toward a deal driven, M&A transactional environment.

Business/Accounting/Finance/Economics degree preferred.
